First, we need the raw model for the new artwork. For the rooster itself, I personally not looking for the ordinary type of rooster. It needs to appear as full of energy, fighting spirit; and most of all, needs to look like an eagle more than a rooster. And I found this image from google.
Everything start from sketching, and the journey begins.
All the essential elements are clearly highlighted in sketching stage.
The next step is to scan the completed sketch and transfer into computer. Create the frames of artwork. Several changes are made in this stage, the wings are totally different comparing to 1st draft, in orfer to give JYET a stronger and powerful appearance.
The completed frames are transferred to Photoshop. In this stage, I've only apply basic textures on the artwork and add a suitable image for background. The main objective of this stage is to test the overall feel, then only can complete the rest arrangements.
Apply a more detailed texture that fits this artwork. I'm totally amazed by the effect applied on JYET's wings, nailed it!!
Other experiment I've tried for creating this artwork, but the result is... horribly awful...
Yup, overall arrangements are done! including the better background that completed the overall image. However, I personally not really like the color setting for this version. Maybe a little more adjustment will make it a better one!
Adding some wordings and JYD logo, and I'm proudly to say: JYET 2017 is completed!
