Sports Illustrated's The Sistine Chapel of Sports
HoffmannNoli Design commissioned Illustrator Jeff Wong recreate The Sistine Chapel in a new way. To look at the creation of big-time sports in America, with an assist from Michelangelo.
I did my best impression of Pope Sixtus IV. I looked around for I knew anyone who could paint the Sistine Chapel. I asked illustrator Jeff Wong if he could do it? He said, "I could probably handle that." The first step was to create a digital scan of the ceiling from a photograph. Wong then "drew" over that layout on his computer using an application called Corel Painter, essentially repainting the Sistine Chapel.
