I was commissioned to make a logo, a poster and some additional stuff for a fair held in a village in the N-E of Bihar county, Romania. I was given the material from earlier years(posters, diplomas etc.) to use as references, but as you'll see, those were of not much help.

The material used in the past was all done in Microsoft Word, using some text effects and that's about it.

2012
The main idea was to design an emblem for this year that could be used on all of the material needed to make the fair look uniform from a graphic standpoint. It had to be fun and easily readable.
The emblem had to contain some elements that locals could relate to. In Szalacs, there's a very interesting bridge with 4 holes through which water used to pass(now the stream has dried up), so I used that as a central element in the emblem.
After the first posters were plastered on the walls many recognized the bridge.
