Book development project
“Récit de Vie” is a project I initiated & co-ordinated in Poste de Flacq,
Mauritius. The project engaged with young teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds who
were unable to finish school due to hardships faced at a very
young age.These kids are dedicated, responsible & talented individuals.
The book development project showcased their beautiful
paintings & told their stories. In this way it encouraged pride
& respect & all the proceeds from the book sales helped them
get training & buy equipment in their chosen career fields. Money raised ran 8 months of art & literacy
workshops with them & provided materials and funds to print the book. “Récit de Vie” is a pilot project of Craft
Academy (registered charity).
