Dimensional Recovery: Rehabilitation Center

In the twenty-first century addiction has reached near epidemic levels in the United States and especially Philadelphia. However comprehensive treatment programs are lacking and prone to low success rates. The complexity of addiction is in the fact that it effects the individual physiologically, mentally, and socially. This project focuses specifically on modes of treatment following this organization as well as experiential therapy and other creative outlets to emphasize the role of the individual in the recovery process.
Operative Diagrams: Extension, Lift, Funnel, Puncture
With three different programmatic volumes extended above street level to reinforce the global separation necessary for effective treatment, the project becomes a visualization of the recovery process. It has been well recorded that the most successful rehabilitation programs are ones that focus on the attributes of the individual, not just their addiction. This lead to a clear definition between spaces, with interstitial space becoming the “display”, a place where patients can interact and exhibit the work they have accomplished in therapy.
