Gripurinn is a thermo cup. It was designed with the idea of one having his own cup. The ideal personal comfort cup. The idea of the cup started during a design course in Reykjavik School of Visual Arts in a collaboration with the porzellan company Kahla. I wanted to design a cup that would be good to hold and sit with during a comfy session. I wanted a cup for the individual. A cup one can relate to when at home or at work.
Below is a picture which shows the space inside the cup. This space makes it possible for the cup to isolate the heat longer in the coffee. Also prevents the surface of the cup to get too hot.
