MoCap data interaction in Mobile Devices (2010)

MoCap data visualization and interaction in Mobile Devices
Real-time streaming of motion capture (MoCap) data to a mobile device (iPhone)
This project involved the development of an iPhone application to receive a stream of MoCap data, visualize it as a skeleton and allow user interaction.

Technologies used were:

This involved the tweaking of VRPN to compile for iPhone, and the development of an intermediary in C++ that transformed the proprietary Vicon Blade data format into the VRPN data format.

Vicon Blade captures and streams the data towards the VRPN client/server, which in turns transforms and sends the data to the iPhone's client via WiFi. All this process occurs as the subject is performing its movements.
Users are able to see the data as soon as movements occur. They can rotate, scale and translate the visualization to see the subject from different perspectives.
