MYŚLNIK STANKIEWICZA LOGO

MYŚLNIK STANKIEWICZA graphic identity was a challenging but rewarding project. My client  – Mr Piotr Stankiewicz – came with a very specified idea about the character and ‘feeling’ of the logo that eventually pushed me to think outside of a classic signet  & typography solution.

The name ‘myślnik’ chosen by my client for his blog literally means ‘dash’, the punctuation mark, but at the same time is a word play: ‘myśl’ – ‘a thought’ and the polish sufix ‘-nik’ makes it simply a thinking space.

I managed to fulfill the condition of keeping the logo minimal and bound together by encapturing the two words with a circle. The stroke is a part of the name’s first and last letter and also is tangential to the surname of the author giving it altogether a clear and smart look.

The logo functions in two states – the full circle version and one that is cropped to fit a horizontal field, such as the header on the website.
