Third place winner of Rede Asta + IED textile upcycling challenge
Environmental awareness is based on preserving the world for future generations, and as a woman and designer, I see myself as the generator and incubator of a new future. My project aims to embrace the natural role of being a mother and choice of conscious consumption, resulting in social, cultural and ecological gain. A shoe is a small conceptual project, but it is also an ambitious undertaking - reeducation of consumption.

"upcycling: to recycle in such a way that the resulting product is of a higher value than the original item :to create an object of greater value from (a discarded object of lesser value). The line upcycles single-use plastic bags that are cleaned and brought in from Bali, Indonesia, and parts of California for use as the main material in the shoes.
