Still Life
'Tiyek' was a project for a restaurant by the same name in the district of Cihangir, İstanbul (which has, unfortunately, since closed its doors). The brief from the graphic designer, Mehmet Ali Türkmen (AGI), was to create 'monumental' images of new budding branches of an unspecified selection of trees and bushes, thus illustrating the name of the restaurant ('Tiyek' is a local word originating from the Adana region of south-east of Turkey, and its meaning is: 'the bud of a new branch') together with the natural nature of the local Adana regional cuisine.
