The Garage - Glasgow
After a lengthy radio silence, friend Sean Barry informed me that I was to fill in as a camera assistant at the SSE Hydro for a night of Insane Championship Wrestling. My immune system seemingly had other plans as it submitted to a sickness bug on the day of the event.
A silver lining emerged however when I was invited by Adam Carrel to join him in filming the subsequent show being held at The Garage, Glasgow. As I told Adam in an email the following day, ‘the show was also a really enjoyable experience. It genuinely gave me a newfound appreciation for wrestling and it's appeal as a fun, character-driven theatrical performance. I realize now that it's this performance - complimented with impressive stunts and thorough choreographic work - that produces a curiously unique entertainment package. ‘

A Q&A section was filmed with ex pro wrestler Charles Wright (Papa Shango, The Godfather) in Box, Glasgow prior to the ICW show. This was a simple setup consisting of two dynamic microphones, with the signal being split to both the in-house desk and the single camera.
Despite being rarely required, I carelessly neglected to note or picture the specific equipment being utilized to capture the event with an exception to the pictured Sony PMW-EX1s. As a result, this update does not provide an insightful recording of equipment and methods used. Aside from the two static cameras, a handheld camera was also used simultaneously.
