Project: King Plow Arts Center Addition
The design of this project is directly influenced by the rail line that previously ran through the current courtyard of the Arts Center buildings. The present entrance and parking area are transformed to reflect this fracture with the addition of an ominous black brick building "growing" from and subsequently taking over the current structure. The entrance to the King Plow Arts Center remains with a fracture from which the addition creates a forced perspective entrance route. The first floor of the addition is programmed for an art museum which features a bistro/cafe during the day and a bar in the evening. A gaming and graphic design company occupies the upper floor of the addition.
