Pride in Bournemouth Project
I was approached on behalf of Daily Echo ( local newspapers ) to create a black&white lion for them. They asked me to include a newspaper building, with their offices and old printing rooms. So, after some time of thinking and photographing the building itlest, I came up with this design ( and painted it onto the lion statue afterwards, which took about 8 weeks to do in total, due to the detail and a very untraditional surface ). In design I tried to incorporate all possible architectural details of this beautiful art deco building and put more light onto the features, which general public wouldn t normaly notice, like a tiny detail of an outside lighting used as a decoration for paws...
All work was part of Pride in Bournemouth project and this lion, together with many more went to be auctioned after two months being displayed in public and money raised traveled to couple of charities, so was really nice to be part of something this big in all it s aspects.
