This private residence in central Austin, completed in 2010, features many custom details. A metal-clad butterfly roof promotes both water collection and solar panel design. A large cantilevered roof covers the front door and a bicycle storage garage. The house is composed in a “C” shape, with a large open floor plan for the public spaces, a private bedroom wing and a large screened-in porch. The carefully scaled shape of the home along with the natural materials complement the neighboring bungalow homes. The home fits into it’s location quietly and naturally, yet clearly embraces 21st century priorities.
