Turning the New Corner in Office Space

In earlier years young people who began their career with their sights set high, imagining one day their sights would really be up high: looking out from a corner office. A sign of success, to these workers, would be the ability to shut a door.

Different Office Specs:

Quite often, today’s best coworking space nyc are different with encouragement for collaboration in work, enabled by closer proximity and more flexibility in using spaces.

*At many companies, even the ones that have been around for decades, office space is no longer thought of as just the three walls and one door of your own office or the three panels of your cubicle; an office is the space of all workers.

*In a professional world where collaboration can be a tool for building the best ideas, offices have many more common areas: open-spaced work-rooms and kitchens on every floor. Water cooler chats are not about boredom; they often lead to a new idea from two excited colleagues.

*The desire for interaction with people and for being surrounded by creativity and ideas while working supports a new trend of even one or two person companies renting space in offices holding other individuals and companies. “Coworking” spaces are where people can work near others, even if they are not in the same industry. Instead ofa company of just two people working somewhere alone, these individuals can rent spaces in a building with many other teams and companies.

Despite this sentiment about a new desire for closeness with colleagues—a chance to talk in break rooms and sometimes surprisingly stumble across a great new idea in a morning chat—there is a differently shifting view of “office space” that can take on the shape of any part of the world (with Wi-Fi access).

*With the advances in technology, many workers can work outside of the building. As long as they do not need to be in for a face-to-face meeting, for example one with a client, there are employees who can do their work anywhere their computer can go.

*Many people speak fondly of the change in office space that creates a way for employees to spend less time at the office itself. Parents in particular value the fact that they can leave work earlier than they may have once been able to and pick up their kids from school or go to afterschool basketball games.
