BOCAMURO is an aristic studio I established with Dorota Pawiłowska & Anna Pelc, that specializes in creating patterns for goods & interiors. We started with painting murals, and expanded our offer with artwork that serves as a repeating, applicable image. Each pattern is made by hand using various techniques ranging from painting to traditional printmaking and carefully selected to make the collections original and recognizable.
When working on the logo, I chose the first letter as a base for the signet. It’s shape was ideal to tell the story about what BOCAMURO stands for. The stem of the letter ‘B’ – straight, firm and wall-like – creates a background for the curvy, rich, permeating strokes of the bowl parts.
The juxtaposition of spanish words boca (mouth) and muro (wall) was intended to show that we can add life and character to surfaces, objects or materials. The handmade patterns help to stand out and distinguish from the mainstream. BOCAMURO literally adds expression to the non-living.
The website works as a porfolio and an ever growing stock of unique patterns. It runs on a shop engine, that allows customers to buy the graphic, digital products, then download and instantly use it to enrich own projects.
