One of my final projects at university was the re-imagining of an already released music album.
I chose Impression, an accompanying set of tracks for the anime Samurai Champloo.
The album’s repertoire primarily consists of downtempo music, a sub-genre of electronica that is most commonly played for the purpose of relaxation and slowing down a music set after more upbeat tunes in nightclubs and at music festivals.
I chose the sunflower as the primary visual motif for the artwork because of its connection to Samurai Champloo, being the purpose of the protagonist's journey, and common association with serenity, peace and positivity.
The inner fold of the album carries on the serene theme with an image of rolling hills hiding a sunrise.
The font used for title, as well as the tracklist and artist biographies is Calibri.
