Gabbia [art residency with performances]

It is not so easy to explain this project and to bring in the world of the words the experience of Gabbia ("cage").
I'll try to do it. Everyone who wants to try to understeand it is really welcome.

Gabbia was an art residency of six days, in Cremona (Italy).
The place of the residency was something very particular.
The name is Una Specie di Spazio (check out also the other projects of this place, it's such a magic island in the middle of nowhere...). The two men of this place are the artists Federico Fronterrè and David Chance Fragale, both curators of Gabbia, together with another artist, Alessia Degani.

During those six days, I've painted on two wood panels, almost always living inside the room of Una Specie di Spazio, behind the big window. My life there was something kept with a performative attitude and my nights have took a title inside the title, becuase they were another performance: when I was just sleeping, the performance was Eta dorme sui pesci volanti ("Eta sleeps on the flying fishes"), that is also the "hystorical" name of my blog, in which I've collected a lot of posts right about the project, live reporting (you can read all the posts with the label "Gabbia"). As you can see in the next pictures, some flyng fish were really above my little bed inside the room. Living for real the surreal image in which I always pictured myself has been an unbelievable satisfaction.

For the opening day (the 6th one, a Saturday), the people could observe my wood panels almost finished.
In the beginning the people had just enjoyed the two paintings and a sculpture made with the artist Anna Cigoli.
But then, the public had took a part in the final performance, Mensa sull'abisso ("Meal On The Abyss").
This performance was something quite strong: my purpose was closed to the concept of a "ritual"... And I think that I and all the artists involved are satisfied: the feedback of the people was really moving. I guess that that evening the "miracle" of the communication happened.
I couldn't hope something more.
Thanks, again, to everybody.
These are the panels that I've painted, with a big help from Rib.
The photos are by Andrea Riboni, that had decided also to create two videos to travel inside my panels and my ritual bedroom...

This video by Eugenio Villani shows the opening day and, above all, some extracts from the performance Mensa sull'abisso.
It is not enough to understeand that experience, but just something to imagine it.

The language spoken is Italian, obviously, but you need just to know this: the two girls ask to everyone was randomly chosen to decid if create a physical damage to me or if add a weight to my burden.
