This project is inspired by The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It revolves around the relationship between the tree and the boy she loves. It invokes a lot of thoughts in this emotion packed short story. In a literal way, it tells the story of how a boy keep asking and taking from the tree up to the end of his journey in life, while the tree readily gives all of herself to him despite being sad and lonely.

Delving deeper into it, I feel that there is an underlying meaning of the selfishness of humans and how they destroy nature in the end for their benefits.

I feel that this is a very meaningful, impactful and inspiring story despite the short length of it. Thus, this series of illustrations is a tribute to the wonderful book it is. :)
