This was a "real world" assignment in junior year of design studio. The clients wanted a logo that was reflective of the city's history, but at the same time showed the modern edge/ art scene of the growing city. The idea was to also cater to the city's residents. I decided to break the word up into syllables, just like the city folk talk (they have a specific way of saying the name). I also combined the letters of the letter sounds together. Bold Gill Sans marks the modern age while Georgia tells of a quaint time. The quotation marks further enforce the idea of the spoken word. Unfortunately it didn't get picked.
