This project was our response to an open call for idea's on developing a new academic interchange for the University of Bremen, Germany. The project called for a building, or series of buildings, that held a variety of programming on the south east edge of the Universities campus.

The massing has been developed under the belief that a strip of small, single
use buildings will be much easier to understand and navigate than one large
building. These new buildings, along with the path bisecting them, will create an
active pedestrian district within the campus that promotes mingling and social
interactions. A café has been added to the programming requirements as it provides
a place for all visitors and users to share and enjoy. Through the separation of
programming and simple exterior signage, we have addressed the wayfinding and
navigation challenged presented in this competition.

Our design is based around the idea that none of the entries will be built exactly as
they are submitted. Instead of detailing a fictional building, we developed a modular
system that can used as a starting point for the future development.
