Senior Interaction and Industrial Design Lead
David's involvement with Surface began years before the project started, with white papers written for Bill Gates outlining the strategy and imperative for a line of Microsoft designed and developed PCs.
David led much of the core design thinking for Surface: from the need for an integrated keyboard to the crisp corner radii to align with the Windows 8 design language.
As the Interaction Design lead on the project, David defined key aspects of the product: the keyboard layout and tactility, the camera angle (horizontal when placed on the kickstand, rather than pointing down at the table), to the hybrid tablet / laptop use model.
