Sci-Fi & Fantasy Illustrations

This work was done for a blog that poked gentle fun at science fiction and fantasy subjects from popular culture.  Most of these illustrations were done as modified tracings in Flash of each character; the backgrounds were custom constructed for each image.  This image was the most popular entry on the site; it received over 6,000 views.  It depicts a debate between the Avatar characters about the floating islands on their planet, and whether or not the Yes album cover artist Roger Dean should be given credit for them.
This image depicts the original finder of Sauron's One Ring--one of the "River Folk" named Deagol.  He is about to have the ring stolen from him, not by Smeagol (who later is called Gollum), but by Fleegle from the 60s television show The Banana Splits, instead.
This image shows a debate between the lead singer of the band Rush and the actor John Cusak, amidst the destruction of the apocalypse as shown in the popular move 2012.
