With the current growth of smart technologies within
the domain of ubiquitous computing, more and more smart
technologies also appear in caretaking facilities, but also in home
environments of elderly people. To create smart technologies, which
will be accepted, and user friendly, extensive knowledge is required
about the user needs. Our study focused on the user requirements
for elderly people when they make use of a so-called smart
refrigerator. We identified three different stakeholders: elderly user,
caretakers, and care experts. In total 13 participants from the
different stakeholder groups were interviewed, and based on
analyses of these interviews a list with user requirements for elderly
has been established.
