I had been itching to do a concert poster for a long time, so when I had the chance to create a concert poster for CFMU, I lept into action. I love the cross-hatching of R. Crumb, and I love his old psychedelic work from the late 1960s. This is essentially what I decided to emulate here.

The greatest challenge and the most time consuming aspect of the design was not the illustration in the background, but rather, setting the typography in the foreground. It was hard to find a balance between psychedelic, eye-catching type while maintaining readability.

In the end the client was satisfied and I was left with a piece that I am particularly proud of.
