Grubs Up - Insect Cook Book

Grubs Up!

This is a project I undertook at Uni, in which I tried to show insects in foods and recipes that look delicious. This is because insects as a food source is widely accepted by eastern culture such as in Cambodia, yet are ignored and refused by most Western cultures. This I believe is due to our perception of how we may think insects taste or think they are just plain creepy, but if we can change the way we see and think about insects then possibly they may become accepted just like sushi once did.

I decided to not use the insects themselves too much in the recipes, instead I hinted at them as ingredients such as cricket flour, as I found in my research that people just think that seeing them is too distracting. I used the idea of them in the foods as ingredients as a step towards changing the views of how insects are perceived as a food source.
