This project is about creating a limited edition book about one of the given “daredevils", in this case - Phillippe Petit, a high-wire walker, who walked between Twin Towers in New York.
The project was done in the group of three people. We collaboratively came up with the concept and design of the package and the basic look of the books inside. Each of us was assigned to a particular book. Particularly, I was working on the “WALK”.
The whole project is based on an indeep research and analisys of Phillippe Petit and his life. All three books are designed in different manners, however maintaining the same cover style and basic colors in order to keep the feel of a set. The box design is created using a screenprinting technic.
The “WALK” is a flip book, where you can see movements of the walker and a "camera" view going around him as he walkes, by rapidly scrolling through pages. The images used are edited photographs of a real man, combined with some illustrations. It is made to show the actual walk of Philippe Petit between Twin Towers, the culminating moment of the story.
The flip book version was chosen because of an importance and a focus on the movement in that part of the story. It is aimed to abstractedly show the breathtaking performance.
