The Project: 

Create a logo for a bottled water company based on one of multiple mythical names given, as well as conceive graphic elements that will be featured on the label. You are only required to create one bottle, and you can make the water have any attribute you wish. 

I chose Ceres because she is the goddess of agriculture, earth and fertility. I felt this would be a great inspiration for water. Water is life giving and makes up about 90% of Earth. The Romans/Greek believed crops could not grow without Ceres, just as crops cannot grow without water. Ceres is often depicted with water and wheat so I wanted to incorporate these elements into my design. I wanted my design to be clean. When you think of Greece or Rome you think of the chiseled letters so I wanted a type similar to that, but not gimmicky. I also wanted to use Grecian colors to identify where the water was coming from and being bottled. I looked at various vineyard and wheat field drawings and sketches to help me determine the look I would be going for when including the hills of Greece.
