The camotes are a traditional Mexican dessert sold in the streets near the dusk while a subtle whistle is spread on the cart road. Sadly, this tradition is getting lost by the pass of the years, and while kids and adults prefer to take other types of desserts after the meal, there are still some 50 kilos carts with that special smell on the streets. The camoteros fight against the slopes to sell at least 20 of them by the end of the day and some of them have to cover 3 km per tour.

This is the soul of this project: a research, an exercise of design to enhance and help the necessities of the people involved in this small traditional market, sellers and buyers.

El Chulito, the good, the man behind the cart selling those delicious camotes. We’ve tried to bring him a name, a brand and an image to reach new markets. Starting selling on the Center of Coyoacan, a pretty bohemian-colonial centre on Mexico City the idea is to make a sustainable franchise on the main cultural and traditional centers of the country.
