In Greek mythology muses are the embodiments of myths, they are the goddesses of poetry, music, dance and science, and they are the inspirers of remembrance and improvisation as well. Today, muses are recorded as a figure of artistic inspiration.
The reason why we have chosen this title was that we wanted to determine the building as a creative field of force, which has given space for intellectual greatness, devotion and arts through different epochs.
Our goal was to define the muse as an inspiring and creative force in visual allegories which is dynamic and ever-changing. We wanted to reflect on the spirit through the epochs that the building guards and today only keeps as a torso of bygone eras.
In the work we wish to explore the tension and the balance between spirit and matter, stability and change, figurative and non-figurative, geometrical and abstract.
