Why use ducted gas heating?

There are various types of heating systems in the market. Each one has its uses and meet various needs. They are meant to fulfill a need; it could be budget, low complexity, environment, etc.

A ducted heating systems consist of a heater unit connected to a series of outlets via a system of ducts. The heating unit is placed at a location dependent upon the house, and the outlets are placed strategically throughout the home, hidden from view. A thermostat allows for temperature control.

How do gas heaters work?

The cold air is passed through a heat exchanger warmed by gas combustion. This warm is passed through ducts spread out throughout the house via vents in the ceiling, floor or walls.

A thermostat installed in the main living area senses the ambient temperature and sends out a message to the heater to cycle on or off or continue at the same temperature.

The output or by-product of the gas combustion is discharged into the air outside.

This is quite different from the heater with reverse cycle cooling.

However, an important point to note is that all equipment during their lifetime may malfunction at some point. It could be a natural result of its lifespan or something gone wrong. Whatever be the reason, since heating systems provide comfort and without it, the temperature cannot be maintained, repair work has to be undertaken with urgency to fix matters. Without getting into the do’s and don’ts, it might not be advisable to open the system to repair it. These systems come with a warranty and once opened the warranty may be void.

Commercial and residences use different types of heating systems. However, the ducted gas heater has certain advantages over reverse cycle heaters in that they are efficient and perform better. Electrical equipment are being rated for their energy efficiency and the higher the rating, the better it is. Additionally, it produces lesser greenhouse gas emissions than many others forms of heaters.

During severe cold conditions, the reverse cycle system may not be as effective, but the ducted gas heater continues to perform as expected.
The heat from the ducted gas system won’t dry out your eyes.

Though the rates for peak electricity and off-peak may vary, gas heaters, in general, tend to consume lesser, reducing your bill. The actual energy costs for your house will depend on the area heated, the duration for which the heating is run, your thermostat settings, how well insulated the house is, your energy tariffs and your local climate.

Should you install a ducted gas heater or reverse cycle will depend on whether your home is suitable for either and other factors such as budget and weather conditions in your location. However, repair and maintenance for these systems are a must, and you can depend on service providers for the same.

Ducted gas heater services are available in most cities that see snowfall and cold weather conditions.
