Solaris – E-A-SUV – electric, autonomous, social, urban vehicle
Philosophy
Solaris is a Polish producer of city, intercity and special-purpose buses as well as low-floor trams. The company located near Poznan, founded in 1996, has already become, despite its young age, one of the trendsetting companies in its industry.
The philosophy of the company is a general concern for both natural and the social environment. The development of new technologies that provide more and more safety for drivers and passengers and minimizing the impact of public transport vehicles on the environment is one of the business objectives.
The company has successfully launched electric vehicles for the growing needs of dynamically developing metropolises.Thanks to the newly built battery-powered Solaris buses, inhabitants can breathe the clean air, while the city operators can benefit from about three times lower operating costs.
Now, it is a time to go further and present a new vision of urban commuter.
The vehicle has been designed by an architect - Piotr Osko, to envision the future of Solaris.
Electric powered
The vehicle uses electric motors for propulsion, and is self-contained with a battery.
The vehicle is a result of the combination new generation’s innovative construction with the eco-friendly zero-emission drive. Its light body frame is accompanied with the robustness of the whole construction.
The vehicle is based on the astonishing invention by Goodyear, which is a spherical tire suspending from the car by magnetic fields.
Thanks to the levitation through the use of magnetic poles, the comfort would be dramatically changed for the better, as compared to conventional vehicles. Additionally, the road noise would be diminished due to the different interaction with the road surface transferred by the link between tire and axle.
Autonomous
The vehicle is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. It is equipped with an advanced control systems that interpret sensory information to identify approperiate navigation paths, relevant signage and potential obstacles. As an autonomous vehicle it can avoid traffic collisions, reduce traffic congestion and allows for a smoother ride.
Social car
The tire allows the vehicle to move in all directions – as a consequence, the interior layout has been changed.
The array of seats differs from the typical car where there are two rows of seats.
The car is autonomous, not driver - oriented, all passengers face each other that allows for better communication, better contact, and a more relaxed way of travelling.
Urban commuter
The vehicle is mainly designed for urban congested areas where passengers would like to rest, spend time reading or chatting in a comfortable space.
They do not need to be drivers any more.
All seats placed are at zero gravity driving position, close to 45 angle to improve overall comfort.
The car not only gives a relief of vehicle occupants from driving and navigation chores, but allows the unlicensed, blind, distracted, intoxicated, or otherwise impaired for moving from one place to another.
