Design Concept /
The original package design of the charcoal soap was simple and unconsicious about the product’s characteristics, which caused frustrations to users according to online product reviews. My redesign of the package and identity aims to give higher value to the product and bring more positive emotions to users by a more elegant and minimal visual approach, as well as providing thoughtful and convenient features to meet users’ needs according to the characteristics of the product.
Package Design /
The new package design is a PVC plastic box printed with gradient from black to transparent, which is a minimal metaphor of dirtiness to cleanness. It comes with a soap dish made with polyurethane foam gives protection to the soap as a package, to avoid disappointment caused by scratches on the surface during transportation and difficulties in finding a container with suitable size. The material of the soap dish helps to drain water away and avoids the soap from sticking on hard surface, therefore it stores and dries the soap well. The soap dish is in black to match the charcoal material and to avoid looking yellowish.
