An investigation into the development of 3d prototyping technologies and what these could offer architecture in terms of form, performance and aesthetics over the next 10,20, 30 and 40 years. And if reconsidered could move away from this ideology of mass production, predefined resolutions and promote the evolution of disused structures within the urban environment - tackling urban sprawl.
My thesis is less about an architecture but more about these technologies being able to produce architectures, redefining the x,y,z parameters and introducing adaptability, reuse and flux within existing structures. Each site I have chosen has a different function in supporting the development of biodiversity on the urban ecology park, situated on the Greenwich peninsula and supporting demands for urban growth. Each programme also runs parallel it time with the development of the 3d printing technology, representing the potential of prototyping and what it could offer architecture over the forth-coming decades.
