Structure Series

The series of brooches, Structure Series, and Shoulder Piece are a response to the architecture of fashion garments, with their use of structure, frames and facades.

The structure pieces are a form of body augmentation; they enhance and modify certain parts of the body, to the design desire. The modifications are controlled and localised. Both these series are an exploration of seeing what would happen if the forms and structures were not controlled.

The brooches were designed to be rigid forms, which still retain an organic-like form. The curvatures of the forms were determined by the restraints of the material.
