Digital Paintings
by Michael Claren
How did I become a digital artist???

I've tried many creative things in my life. It all started in my very early childhood with a dream to become a classical musician. For many reasons that didn't work out and so I became a rock musician instead. Since 1969 I worked as a professional singer and bass player both on stage and in the recording studios.
Then the time came to try something else and so I incorporated a publishing house for books and records in 1980 and later on studied book and magazine production in Munich/Germany.
In 1985 I also began producing films and videos and sold my publishing company. Since then I was involved in the production of hundreds of films in Europe and the United States.

And now it starts: Inspired by my cooperation with some avant-garde theater groups and other artists in Munich I used my previous experience in a more experimental way.
Initially the medium video suited my desire to work artistically best and since 1990 I am using it to produce art-house films and design multimedia room installations.
A few years ago I also began to increasingly deal with still photography and I love it!
Most important: I discovered the possibilities of computer based techniques to express my very personal creative ideas and ever since I am devoted to the so-called Digital Arts from where my Digital Paintings emerge.
Since 1999 I work as an Editor, Photographer, and as an Artist in Munich Germany, and Hobe Sound, Florida.
