Sharing Plates / 2008
In today’s generation, Hong Kong people sel-dom practice the Chinese table manners as they are affected by the surroundings. They are losing the richness of the interaction in the tradition and losing the communication at dinning. The design aims to bring the rich-ness of Chinese table manner back to the dinner table. Sliding the serving plates under-lines the interaction of picking and sharing food. It increases communication and illus-trates how family members care for one an-other. Furthermore, the design lets Chinese people and people from different culture ex-perience the Chinese dinner in a playful way.
