Understanding of the graphic designer’s role in the layout and design of publications while learning the current practices and technologies used to produce multi-page publications. To produce visualizations for publications using the elements of layout with typography and art gaining the understanding for the depth and breadth of the publications market for graphic designers while exploring both the aesthetic and production aspect of publication design including the use of type on layouts, editing images, space, structure, scale and pacing. Particular attention needs to be paid to certain elements of the design production, including the visual, tactile and aesthetic qualities of paper, printing techniques in reproduction. Controlling the memorable “voice” for any publication. The main focus of this course was to form a team and publish a magazine with the different departments in a design firm. including creative director/art director/ editor/ copyrighter etc. While focusing on the “Actual” process of the magazine using the 4 color printing process and seperatting the cover magazine into 4 different printing films and its actual printing process.
