For this project the goal was to embody the feel and meaning of of a particular album or artist through the use of only minimalistic typography.
Although not as powerful as Adele, the Civil Wars shared similarities in their music. This group is very classy, elegant, and timeless. Many of their songs are about love, relationships, and conflict, but are not quite as sad or angry as some of Adele’s songs. They have a huge interest in black and white photography, so I focused on this color scheme in my posters. I thought the name of their group was more interesting than of the album so I focused on this and the idea of conflict.
The song Safe and Sound is actually one of the songs from the Sound track for the Hunger Games. It features Taylor Swift as well as the Civil Wars, but is much more in the style of the Civil Wars than Taylor Swift. I really love this particular song. Its deep, haunting, enchanting and yet pretty. Again for this color palate I choose muted, foggy colors. I also wanted to include a texture in the background to add some rustic character. My focus for this design was the ampersand.

Music Posters

Overall with the Music that I choose, the posters I created needed to be quieter, simplistic, elegant.
