'The Killing Of A Butterfly' is a short film dealing with the controversial topic of self-harm, providing insight into a self-harmer's experience, desires and feelings. While a voice-over narrates, explicit footage visualizes.

My dear self-harmers,
with this project I hope to let you know that it is alright.
It is alright that you want to do this, it is not a terrible thing to be doing,
if it helps you deal with this difficult life.
It is alright, and you have my support and understanding.
You have my understanding, because I've been through the same.
I am also a former self-harmer.
But even if I hadn't been, you'd still deserve my understanding and empathy.
Just remember not to let it take over you.
You are always the stronger one, and you do this consciously, with your own power.
In the end, you are the strong one. Not the desire.
