The “Awareness Campaign: From darkness to light” is a series of installations and interventions that will be revealed to the sighted public in a procession of five days, aiming to raise awareness and highlighting the obstacles that blinded and visually impaired individuals face in everyday life.
It is a social campaign that will be interactive in nature and rare. For this reason we created a campaign that will target the population and will challenge the way they currently regard the issue of blindness. The campaign focuses on creating design that will convey all the feelings of uncertainty, confusion and fear of the blinded individual and at the same time will serve as obstacles to the sighted public. The ultimate aim is to give some insight into the practicalities of suffering from sight loss. The campaign was originally designed to be located in the central seafront of Thessaloniki in Greece, one of the most commonly used public spaces.
