Font Poster Design

Trade Gothic Next: The "Workhorse Font" essential for every graphic designer. Poster Mockup template courtesy of Zokidesign.
"A Poster should be both
eye-catching and informative."

The intent of this project is to research a font and use that information to create a poster that encompasses that font's personality and showcases it in a way that makes a designer want to purchase it. The font displayed in this design is Trade Gothic Next, a redesign of the original font, Trade Gothic, which was designed in 1948. This font was so fun to advertise, because it is so often used in the advertising and newspaper industries anyway.

This poster showcases the personality of Trade Gothic Next: bold, yet clean and simple. The styles available for this font are shown on the side, and I also used a variety of styles in the design in order to showcase the versatility of the font. A brief history is given, and where and how to purchase this font is also included in the design.

One of the focuses of this design was hierarchy. I wanted to display my understanding of how to create focal point and flow in a design in order for the viewer to navigate it easily and in the way you want them to.
A focus on the principles of design, font personality, and hierarchy in poster design.
