The Brief was to create an original cover illustration for the film magazine Little White Lies, the cover produced needed to include the portrait of the main character as the defining focal point. With five films too choose from I was drawn to the film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
My cover design is based on George Smiley’s critical use of files to unearth the mole within the film and the concept of creating a case wall with these files to construct a portrait. After creating the portrait using a nib and ink I printed it on various stock and began to reconstruct the illustration in order to create the final image.
