This is a hypothetical poster for a lecture series at the Kansas City Art Institute. The poster was designed as an homage to April Greiman's design and her contribution with her decontructivism. Its intent is to both highlight Greiman's New Wave aesthetic while maintaining a sense of order as a nod to the designer itself. While embracing Greiman's aesthetic, I did not want to copy her design but rather pay respect to it. The poster incorporates Greiman's color scheme and propensity for layering while maintaining some hierarchy to lead one's eye throughout the composition. The poster itself is constructed only with images of the lecture hall, Vanderslice, and color blocks.
