The Stranger,

Book and Cover Illustration for »L’Étranger,« by Albert Camus. The in the year 1942 published novel tells the story about the young Algerian Meursault who shots unfortunately during controversies a Man on a beach. Shortly thereafter Meursault is caught and waits in his prison cell of his execution.
Intention was a visually implement of the oppressive atmosphere in the book and the pessimistic thoughts of the protagonist into a gloomy imagery. The book illustrations were published a few weeks later in »Fresh3 Magazine / Illustration Print« by the publishing house Magma Brand Design
