Portsmouth From Family Archives Book

The book idea came around when my brother Matthew started scanning in slides that primarily my grandparents photographed, along with photographs our parents took. Most of this was slides and film.

We started by restoring the images as best we could, and when finally complete, we felt that the photos would become a unity in a book, which we created as a christm
as present through Blurb in December 2011.

The box of slides included photographs of Portsmouth, and other holiday trips our grandparents went on. Neither of my Grandparents studied photography, they just enjoyed it as a hobby. Our grandad tended to want to know what was going on in the photography world.

After christmas, I questioned if the book could actually become something that the public wouldn't mind enjoying and remembering. As the book contains photographs that are not so old that people won't remember the places, but instead remenence in them.

I (myself - Jonathan) hunted round for publishers and found Tricorn Books, once shown the book, they were totally impressed by the look and feel of it. Once agreed that we would go further with the book, we overcame issues, one for example is that the original was larger and had more pages.
I would like to personally thank anyone who has bought a book, and I hope you enjoy it fully.
