Make in India is an initiative launched by the Government of India to encourage multi-national, as well as national companies to manufacture their products in India. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 September 2014.
GE’s Role

•GE’s participation at the Make In India week was amplified on social which included the #iMakeInIndia contest, GE’s presence in India and live tweeting for panel discussions involving top leaders.
•The social media activity included tweets by top publications like  CNN_IBN News, Bloomberg  and was picked up by  industry influencers such as  Make In India, Amitabh Kant & DIPP. etc.
•Several GE employees also participated in the conversation
