Numerous studies and behavioral analyses have proven that adolescent interaction with the natural environment promotes a wide range of development. When a child plays in nature they improve their cognitive skills, relieve stress, advance social skills, and boost their sensory awareness. As a cumulative point on the proposed Blue Bell Park nature walk, this Eco-Play Environmental Education center aims to address both the inherently social and individual aspects of play in the natural environment. By utilizing a system of exterior circulation the structure reconnects users to the experiences of the park, acting as a mediator between the main trail and the forest. This project is a stitching together of conceptual thinking and the human experience that creates a unique cohesion between architecture and the environment.
