Four Foxs
A hands on study of typography and letter form.
Through the decades type has been increasing in texture, styles, and detail. Especially with the production of computers and the numerous amounts of software available to generate type, fonts have become something “over” generated. These technologies have been having a reverse paradigm effect, sending designers away from the computer and back to working with their hands. Working with all mediums such as wood, metal, and pen & paper.

During my four years at College for Creative Studies I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge on typography both through classes and via internet. I have designed two typefaces, and while working on the computer has its satisfactions I find myself drawn to classes outside of my curriculum such as metal and glass studios. Putting both studies together I will create a series of display type faces that explore what can be derived from materials. Using glass, wood, metal, and xacto cutting techniques to generate a typeface by chance. Further more I will document and vectorize my findings into a usable computer Open Type File.
