Reuniting the kitchen with the rest of the house
This kitchen has been reunited with the rest of the home. Previously, walls separated the kitchen from the living and dining room area. Everybody loves to hang out in the kitchen. So, why not open it to the rest of the house?
The walls were opened up and headed off structurally to allow clear views through to the other rooms. This created a much more functional space while at the same time making the house feel much larger. The counter top has two levels, one is regular counter height, the other is bar height; great for serving guests. The new cabinets add extra storage to the existing kitchen. A wine cooler has been included as well. The soffit above zones the area and adds a nice modern look with recessed lighting.
